 when in power-button-induced suspend, it's okay for power events to wake
 the laptop briefly, as long as it goes right back to sleep.  this lets us
 monitor the battery, so we shutdown before it gets too low.

 but currently battery or AC plug-in events will fully wake the laptop, as
 if the power button was pushed.
