 I suggest closing this bug.

 I haven't seen any incidences of this problem with newer kernels, and I've
 been testing for it a lot (turning off X for suspend/resume tests).  I
 believe it was a problem with a particular set of Mitch kernels (possibly
 due to a missing module ?)
