Comment(by dsd):

 As a workaround, I tried creating a small library defining time() to
 always return a fixed value, and then tried running prelink with:
 LD_PRELOAD=./mylib.so prelink

 Unfortunately this doesn't work, because prelink itself is statically
 linked.
