Comment:

 Daniel's question still stands ... why should Fn+erase delete characters
 and not behave as if erase was pressed on its own?  Here's a potential
 answer ... http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Keyboard says that if you are looking
 for a Delete key, use Fn+erase.

 Using Terminal, xev, shows the following results:

 ||11.2.0||os19||BackSpace||BackSpace||

 Therefore this is a regression from 8.2.1 to 10.1.x and is still a
 regression in 11.2.0 development builds.

 If any release engineer wants to take it into their next release, please
 change milestone accordingly.
