Comment:

 This is a simple patch we should be looking into (a) upstreaming and (b)
 merging into our kernel tree.

 It saves a forced-reboot when OFW needs to write to SPI. For deployments
 using RTC antirollback features, tracked in #9564, this might mean every
 boot (or every warm boot).
