Comment:

 There is no problem with xserver-1.9.4 and XUngrabKey as far as I can see.

 The problem is that metacity's disable-keybindings message doesn't do what
 Sugar wants it to do, probably by design. Lets see if we can get that
 design tweaked... https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=643682
