 'Resume with' choices.  I clicked on that - and Browse displayed the
 content of that .pdf file.

 I don't understand why you want read a PDF file in the Browse. We have a
 more powerful Read activity to read PDF files. The embedded viewer is only
 to read a PDF when you are browsinf in internet or when you are using a
 collection with PDFs inside. I am strongly opposed to add application/pdf
 to the activity.info file in Browse.
