Comment:

 The chip has selftest feature that applies an internal force.  I used it
 to create an automated selftest for the accelerometer.  The test is
 integrated into the menu system under the switches item - the icon that
 shows a picture of the XO.

 Fixed by svn 2269.  Test in http://dev.laptop.org/~wmb/q4a14d.rom
