Comment(by saadia):

 The access from user space to accelerometer coordinates is in the file
 /sys/devices/platform/lis3lv02d/position.
 The values in this file have a scale of 18 times the raw coordinates seen
 in the OFW driver, as this is specified as the "accuracy" in the spec.
 Testing the accelerometer will have to require human involvement,
 otherwise the values can not be forced to change. I can provide a command
 to monitor the position file as the laptop is moved.
