 Thanks, Lennert!

 I'd suggest going ahead and submitting the invasive fix -- the maintainers
 can decide to just disallow hrtimers if they prefer, I guess.  (It's not
 terribly important to us that any fix gets merged in 3.0 rather than 3.1,
 since we're carrying it locally, but of the two fixes I'd rather see the
 invasive one land.)
