 This can be easily seen on os6 or os4+2.6.39 kernel. Repros on A2 and A3
 units. OFW is Q4A13

  * Install OS image (os4 or os6)
  * For os4, build and install a current 2.6.39 kernel with olpc's patches
 or copy the kernel from an os6 img.
  * Boot into GNOME
  * Switch to a VT - login as olpc and run the following command: while
 /bin/true ; do echo date >> heartbeat.log ; sleep 1 ; done
  * Switch back to X
  * Open gnome-terminal
  * Run vi /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo and navigate around the
 file pressing and holding arrow keys (until auto-repeat)
  * Alternatively, navigate your bash command history with up/down arrow
 keys.
  * Gnome terminal freezes - most programs block on IO for a few minutes.
  * The rough length of the freeze can be monitored looking at the
 hearbeat.log for multi-minute skips between entries.
