 the 00fsp.h post-resume script has just recently been offered by the
 touchpad manufacturer as a remedy for touchpad woes.  what the script
 actually does is undocumented, nor do we know if it's meant to work on all
 versions of the AVC touchapd.

 avatar -- at least some of the "psmouse.c: Failed to [de]activate ..."
 messages i think you're used to seeing on 1.75 were caused by problems in
 the 1.75 firmware.  the ps/2 data travels a very different path on XO-1
 and XO-1.5, so shouldn't have had those problems.  (that being said, if
 turning on kernel-level debug as you suggest helps with any symptoms on
 1.5, we should look more carefully at the EC-based datapath.)
