 Sridhar reports that XO-1.5 units have similar symptoms to #11171 .

 From #11171, the steps to repro are

 Problem is most easily reproduced by:

  * Boot into OFW
  * ok test /mouse
  * placing a single finger on the centre of the touchpad at a 45 degree
 angle, which is the usual operating position,
  * while not moving the finger in relation to the touchpad surface, roll
 the finger left and right, while watching for unusual cursor movements.

 The symptom should reproduce within 10 to 30 seconds.
