 I'll attach a patch that might fix this.  I can't say for sure since I've
 never seen it... but it is true that the driver was not really
 initializing the hardware at probe time.  So, conceivably, anything could
 have been going on.  This patch resets the hardware at the beginning, and
 again whenever it is closed.

 There is a vague possibility that it is, in fact, the second audio device
 that is interrupting.  If so then we'll need to put in something special
 to mask that device too, even if it's not configured into the system.
