Comment(by carrott):

 The blue touchpad from our XO-1.75 wanders in ebook mode when assembled
 into a membrane keyboard XO-1.5 C2.

 I have swapped the touchpad assembly (the white plastic bit with the glued
 on blue touchpad circuit board and the second circuit board which the
 touchpad and keyboard connect to) with the same parts from Tank, a
 prototype XO-1.5 C2. I now have an XO-1.5 with membrane keyboard and base
 electronics from our clicky keyboard XO-1.75 and our clicky keyboard
 XO-1.75 with the base electronics from an XO-1.5. (the keyboard swap isn't
 perfect because the white bit that the touchpad is bondeded to is
 different to accomodate the different keyboards).

 I have unobscured photos of the bare blue (doesn't have an obvious maker)
 and green (says synaptics) touchpads if that helps, but i guess you guys
 already know where they came from and why this might be happening?
