 On XO-1.5 powerd responds to the power button down event
 [http://dev.laptop.org/git/users/pgf/powerd/tree/powerd#n2217 by calling
 sync], so the test is not useful for comparison.  Sorry about that.
 Please either pull the power sources, or stop powerd.

 On os40, powerd is not running.  That is a contributing cause to your
 symptom.

 This problem #11160 will be reduced in severity once powerd is running
 properly, though corruption on battery drop should still occur the same on
 XO-1.5 and XO-1.75 assuming the same Fedora upstream and similar kernels.
