 The menu isn't hidden by default by GNOME, thats something that Fedora put
 on top because they ship IBus. I don't think ibus ends up in our builds so
 you could probably argue that the fact that this doesn't show up in GNOME
 is a bug in our distro.

 I think the core question that needs answering to progress on this bug is:

 Using a locale which causes olpc-session to activate SCIM, is there any
 realistic use case where the user would want to access this menu?
