I looked a bit around what SCIM can actually do. So you can use it to type
non-roman characters like Japanese with a roman-character keyboard for
example.
The interesting part is, if SCIM is used on the XO. At least the package
is installed in the 0.84 builds but the trigger for the frontend
(Ctrl+Space) does not seem to reveal it. Maybe you first need to follow a
similar procedure like described at
[http://wiki.laptop.org/go/SCIM#SCIM_on_the_XO SCIM on the XO] to enable
it. Maybe someone with knowledge can give here some hints.
Regarding the particular issue: If we support SCIM we should not remove
the option. In any case, I do not find it a real issue. Might be a bit
confusing, from my experience the kids do not use right click, so I wonder
if they ever trigger it... :)
