 Tested pre-release packages with the following test RPMs:
 sugar-0.84.22-2.fc11.i586.rpm
 sugar-artwork-0.84.2-2.fc11.i586.rpm
 sugar-presence-service-0.84.1-2.fc11.noarch.rpm
 sugar-toolkit-0.84.12-2.fc11.i586.rpm

 Sugar was able to clean up both activity as well as nested directories of
 custom-created files from its temporary path as long as they were created
 by the olpc (Sugar UI) user.

 The patch was not able to clean up files created by root in the temporary
 directory, but I do not think (hope?) most activities run using SetUID
 anyway.
