Comment:

 I disagree with raising priority to blocker since the current state is at
 least usable, even though the function does not work.  When to release
 should not be made dependent on the availability of specific fixes, since
 that would block other fixes from being released.  The amount of time the
 problem was known is orthogonal.

 I'll retest the earlier patch in the current builds.  The important
 downside was that the patch slowed normal unrotated usage considerably.

 I've also asked jnettlet_ for a summary of the current state of
 development.
