Comment:

 The same symptom of misplaced palettes also occurs in the Journal on 0.84
 when manually deleting entries one after the other using right-click erase
 actions.

 Seen in Memorize logs when the symptom is reproduced:

 Which is from src/sugar/graphics/palette.py in sugar-toolkit-0.84.

 In sugar-toolkit HEAD, this has moved to
 src/sugar/graphics/palettewindow.py and there are several fixes after 0.84
 that may relate, in particular the changes for
 [http://bugs.sugarlabs.org/ticket/1135 SL #1135] and
 [http://bugs.sugarlabs.org/ticket/1268 SL #1268].

 In the same version of Memorize on Sugar 0.88 the symptom is not
 reproducible, nor is the Journal issue.

 I suggest either backporting the fixes or rolling forward to Sugar 0.88.
