#10360: XO 1.5 laptops losing track of current network connection when it sleeps
the screen

--------------------------+-------------------------------------------------
I'm testing 10.1.2 with RPMs installed to add support for issue #9845 (XO
1.5 automatic ad hoc support), and whenever one of the two XO 1.5 laptops
I have access to decides to sleep to the point it turns off its display,
said laptop loses track of the current network connection.
Disabling "Automatic power management" in the Sugar control panel makes
this issue go away.
ifconfig reports no IP address for eth0 and iwconfig reports no ESSID is
set for eth0 either. The laptop just falls off of all networks and does
not try to re-establish any connection until explicitly told to do so.
This happens for both ad-hoc as well as AP-based connections.
Eventually, the Network view in the GUI will show that the system is not
connected to an access point, but that may take some time. The following
error message is seen in shell.log when this happens:
1284126025.345429 ERROR root: Error getting the active access point:
org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "Get" with signature "ss"
on interface "org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" doesn't exist
Reproduction:
1. Connect to a network in the Sugar GUI (with the patched RPMs from
erikos listed at issue #9845 installed? -- I don't have a lot of 1.5
laptops in front of me at the moment), or just use an ad hoc one.
2. Wait until the laptop screen goes blank in 10 minutes or so.
Expected: We restore our wireless network connection quickly after
conserving power.
Actual: We do not restore our wireless connection at all after conserving
power, even after several minutes.
