 We have no activities that require OSS, so whether it is present or not is
 not particularly relevant to us.  It wasn't automatically present in 8.2.1
 through to 10.1.2 on XO-1. (I've not checked beyond those versions).
 While OSS is "present" on XO-1.5 we didn't make any effort to make it so.
 I think the questions are (a) do we want to start providing OSS support on
 XO-1 even though we already provide ALSA support, and if so (b) why does
 the XO-1 not carry it even though XO-1.5 does.  I expect that the reason
 it is present relates to the kernel drivers being different.
