 I had a look at this a couple of months ago. While I could run benchmarks
 showing improvement, I could only see tiny improvements in regular usage:

 I put 2 laptops side by side, both with a long text-only page in Browse. I
 held the down arrow key on both laptops and both reached the end at pretty
 much the same time.

 I then timed the duration of "cat bigfile" from the Terminal activity
 where bigfile was a file with lots of lines and while a more measureable
 improvement was seen, it was not really significant and this is not really
 a use case either.

 I'd vote to stick with what was shipped in 10.1.2 in order to avoid
 risking (more) regressions.
