Comment(by greenfeld):

 When Write exports a PDF file the default action in the journal is for
 Write to open it, not Read (although Read is a secondary option).

 And Write does not seem to know much about parsing a PDF file beyond
 showing me its context as raw text (which fails once the compression
 starts).
