 I was asked to look at this, and although I don't have a sound meter,
 agree with Quozl that adjusting the Capture mixer control to 100% should
 solve the issue.

 I used a tone generator with headphones to create a constant audio tone,
 and placed the headphones over the microphone of an 812 XO-1, and then a
 10.1.3 352 XO-1.  The difference in volume recorded with the Record
 activity was noticeably lower on the 10.1.3 XO.

 I then used alsamixer to bump the Capture control up to 100% on the 352
 XO-1, and recorded another sample on it.  The volume of this sample then
 seemed {subjectively} similar to that coming out of the 812 XO.
