 I think this is the code that went into xulrunner for ogg support:

 I was trying to figure out if it attempts to support any kind of hw
 acceleration. It's not obvious, but after looking at the code I think not.
 At least, it unconditionally converts from YUV to RGB, and that is usually
 not needed when dealing with (e.g.) Xv acceleration.

 So I'm thinking fixing totem's audio is the best way to solve this.
