 no.  new XO-1 releases go the right way, and sugar already does the
 correct thing with the old releases that go the wrong way.  i think the
 test would need to be whether we're going SWRandR or not.

 if this is going to keep on being an issue, we should just put down a flag
 file that tells olpc-rotate which way xrandr turns, on the current
 build/machine.
