Comment(by jon.nettleton):

 There are a bunch of registers that are changed between the broken code
 and the working code.  Is it possible to just invoke a VT switch away on
 suspend and back on resume to invoke the suspend code that already exists
 in the driver?  If the DCON is frozen this should be seamless to the user.
