 okay, maybe it's not quite as simple as a typo, but i definitely got into
 a situation where the connections.cfg file contained an incorrect key, and
 it was incorrect enough that the connection wasn't even attempted, so it
 couldn't fail, so i wasn't being re-prompted.  can't reproduce it now.
