Comment:
Hi Jon (Corbet),
Could you take a look at this? We finally have Xv hooked up, it's playing
from non-camera sources successfully, but using the camera with Xv gets us
into IRQ/DMA problems quickly:
{{{
Mar 12 11:57:21 xo-73-22-ac kernel: [ 149.052340] VIA DMA timeout!
Mar 12 11:57:21 xo-73-22-ac kernel: [ 149.152283] VIA DMA timeout!
Mar 12 11:57:21 xo-73-22-ac kernel: [ 149.280659] irq 16: nobody cared
(try booting with the "irqpoll" option)
}}}
I've reproduced Jon (Nettleton)'s dmesg here, so it's not just a problem
with his hardware. He and I are using the Record activity under Sugar,
but I think he said he sees the same crash using "mplayer tv://", which I
know is your preferred test method. Here's a built version of the
openchrome driver with Xv support enabled, so to test on an XO you can
just do:
{{{
wget dev.laptop.org/~cjb/openchrome_drv.so
mv openchrome_drv.so /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/
killall Xorg
}}}
