the plan of record now is to place a flag file in /, indicating that it's
okay for resize2fs to be run when the system boots. since the resize can
be done online, it will be set up to occur while the laptop is being used.
on success, the flag file will be removed, so that the resize only happens
automatically just once. it can be retriggered by touching the file, or
suppressed entirely by a deployment by removing the file during build.
issue: an olpc-update will cause the flag file to come back, i believe.
in order for this to work, the partition must be sized to fill the disk,
otherwise the filesystem will have no room to grow.
