 the EC currently identifies SCI events (which can cause system wakeups, or
 other system handling) as bits in an 8-bit field.
 all 8 bits are currently defined, and we need at least one more.

 the current newly revised plan is to add new bits, and a new EC command
 which will return two bytes instead of just one.  the old command will
 continue returning the original (low) byte.

 when the new command is available, olpc-pm-1.5.c can begin using it.
