keep my Journal VERY clean - I delete entries from it as soon as I have
finished exercising any particular Activity. And I haven't run Record-79
on the XO-1.5 in days.

> That's interesting. The shell.log shows there is a Record-79 present
alongside Record-81, and then in a subsequent log it is shown as being
alongside Record-82, and I presumed it was the Journal that held
Record-79. I have no explanation for why shell.log says this.
What you are looking at there is data in the format that file 'favorite-
activities' is in -- but I have made sure that my
.sugar/default/favorite_activities has no duplicates - so I do NOT know
where shell.log is getting this information from.
I had some months ago seen a corrupted Home View Ring (many many icons,
with them all overlapping each other) - and was able to trace that
problem back to there being entries in .sugar/default/favorite_activities
for Activity-versions that were no longer available in my system. That
became my motivation for keeping .sugar/default/favorite_activities
"clean".
[It could be that by me not using "software update", I am allowing Sugar
to add ever more multiple versions to its "keeping-track-of-Activities"
list.]
----
By the way, I doubt you would find the problem I have with Record-82 on
os204 by looking into how I install Activities. I install ALL Activities
the same way (there are no directories in my ~/Activities) - and they all
work once I have installed them. In particular, I just now installed
Record-81 using the same procedure I used to install Record-82 -- and
Record-81 correctly saved the audio clip, and did not vanish. [The
record-81 audio clip did contain the five seconds of silence.]
