 I may be getting closer to being able to semi-reproduce this.

 I had 4 instances yesterday: 2 pairs.  On one, it had been off (but
 plugged in) for a while.

 A few minutes ago, I had 3 more.  Again, it had been off for an hour or
 two.

 If somebody has a good lab setup, it might be interesting to try some cold
 spray.
 I'm thinking of cooling the whole board slightly rather than freezing a
 particular chip.
 Or maybe put it in a freezer for a while.

 This could (easily) be just my unit.
