 The reason that you can communicate between XO-1.5 (where the hardware
 does not support mesh) and os180py (where the software does not support
 mesh) is that they both see the mesh as an ad-hoc network (they know no
 better), hence they create their own ad-hoc network (separated from the
 mesh) with that name and can communicate using regular ad-hoc networking.
 It's then not surprising that they can't communicate with machines on the
 actual mesh.

 nevertheless the feature request is valid and could be implemented in
 software in the future.
