 i was wrong about this.  the keyboard, and the EC, are both passing up all
 the bytes we need to do this.  it's a kernel or a keyboard mapping problem
 that "scancode -s" doesn't show any output for the Fn key by itself, or
 for the Fn+FX combinations.
