 Additional observations:

 Even after setting sampling rate to 11025 (one used by Etoys), there are
 occasional drops (though much rarer). In such a case, it make more sense
 (in a XO-1.5 like scenario where disk space is comparatively larger) to
 record the data as raw/wav, and the encode it before commiting it to the
 journal. This would, however, require significant amount of code changes
 to the Record codebase.
