 on os108, i've tried a yum install pyserial but there was no effect;
 firefox continues to function.

 i'm suspecting corruption of your filesystem.  if you have spare capacity,
 make an image backup of /dev/mmcblk0 for later analysis; e.g. mount a USB
 stick and:

 cat /dev/mmcblk0 | gzip - > /media/UUID/sd.img.gz
 }}}

 then i guess it is time to look at files relating to the error message ...
 look at that timemodule.so file, with the ldd program:

 }}}
