Comment:

 os103 contains Speak-11 instead of the affected Speak-12, so this symptom
 is fixed by Sugar Labs and included in a current build.

 I'm okay with this ticket being closed.  Hoping for an examination of
 approaches based on a ticket being a ''task'' is very brave. The
 respective mailing lists would be a good place to have such a discussion.

 I don't think we can produce builds with activities that have to ''call
 home'' without causing additional support effort in deployments.
