 OK, the flip issue is truly bizarre.  This setting is controlled entirely
 at the ov7670 level, and that setting has not changed in years.  But
 *something* in the XO 1.5 ov7670 really wants to turn the mirror bit on.
 It takes a rather large hammer and a seriously bad attitude to convince it
 otherwise.

 It may take a while to figure out what is really going on here.  It may
 just be a different run of hardware.  In the mean time, I'll attach a
 patch which makes things work properly for now.  This is *not* what I
 consider to be a proper fix; it's just a swing with that big hammer.  But
 it may be useful for the moment.
