 Yes, this is a known problem, due to previously reported bugs #9407 (Xv
 doesn't work), and #9325 (full-screen fills are slow in X).  Recording
 without displaying at the same time works relatively well; tested using
 manual commands.  Thus the camera is excluded.  Unfortunately Record
 doesn't offer that as an option.

 Picture noise will depend on the brightness of the scene being recorded,
 per #9853 (XO-1.5 low camera image quality).

 Also slightly related might be #9890 (os61 record activity full-screen
 button less effective).
