Comment:

 There are two files involved in the lease process:  leases.dat and
 lease.sig .  Note that neither is named "lease.dat" as cited above.
 leases.dat is processed by the OS-based activation code and used to
 generate lease.sig , which OFW reads.

 It is possible that "lease.dat" is just a typo and the real file that was
 tried was "lease.sig", but without knowing for sure, I cannot rule out the
 possibility of a mistake in which the lease.sig file was not present on
 the test machine's nand.

 I am trying to set up a test case but it is taking awhile because I have
 to recreate a full XO-1 environment complete with OS installation.
