 When someone looks at this, please keep in mind that it is confusing for
 the user for the launch screen to keep on pulsing for a longish duration,
 especially when the activity-launch process itself had much earlier
 terminated unsuccessfully.

 [Over the years I've written two tickets about this - both of which got
 closed without any changes being made to the launch screen duration.]
