Comment(by Quozl):
This known problem was published in the 10.1.2 release notes in the
''Update'' section, ''Compatibility'' and ''Known Problems'' subsections.
See http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Release_notes/10.1.2#Compatibility ...
... you do seem to be discovering things from the release notes with
reasonably regularity. ;-) Have a read, there might be other things
there that you can raise as bugs. If not, then they should certainly be
carried forward to the 10.1.3 release notes, and I haven't seen that
happen yet.
Regarding the XO only having ~110 MB free, was this after removing the
previous operating system version as recommended by the 10.1.2 release
notes?
Regarding your proposed solution, we can do nothing prior to an update,
since that code is already deployed in the laptops. If you mean doing
something after an ''olpc-update'' and before an ''Software update'', that
is indeed possible. On the other hand, the user may have chosen that URL
intentionally with the hope of being selective. I would not lose that
functionality lightly.
''Software update'' might also be improved to refuse to download if
insufficient free space is available.
