 I think we're onto something here. One key difference between 2.6.25 and
 the newer kernels is that 2.6.25 did not do the BIOS_LOWMEM_KILOBYTES
 dance. It just read the EBDA address, and reserved 4kb.

 This changed in this commit:

 which is evidently what broke things for us.
