Comment:

 Tested on 8.2.1 build gg-802-1.img:

 {{{
 xrandr --newmode 800x600 0 800 0 0 0 600 0 0 0
 xrandr --addmode default 800x600
 xrandr --output default --mode 800x600
 }}}

 Fails with "xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed".

 Given that this doesn't work in 8.2.1 and doesn't work in 10.1.2 release
 candidate os851, this is not a regression.

 On os851, the resolution is successfully changed, the Terminal activity
 resizes, but after suspend and resume the image has vertical lines. These
 are cleared by switching to text console and back. I suspect this is
 because firmware or kernel prepare the graphics device for the standard
 resolution.
