 on an xo-1.5 C2 with os204, I had the same symptoms. But a friend pointed
 out that localhost:631/admin (and all other tabs) worked with the
 exception of /. I was able to use 'sudo system-config-printer' to
 configure a new printer. (my comment seems to be a duplicate of #10283)
