 and of course we should always be thinking about making the upstream
 kernel work out of the box... Having a module parameter required for 1 of
 the 2 systems is OK but a little undesirable. is there no easy way we can
 read the ov7670 revision, clock speed, or another sensible difference
 between the 2 laptops?
