 Mitch, I know you're busy with other projects, but perhaps you have some
 suggestions on the next step of debugging this issue?

 Summary: all kernel versions newer than the one in the last official
 release (8.2) crash fairly frequently during boot on XO-1 in a mysterious
 manner. OFW is still on-screen at the time of the crash, with the line
 "Loading ramdisk" being the last thing there. Frame key does not invoke
 OFW debugger. Nothing more is output on serial console.
